The artist reception at Jackson Junge Gallery for Naked & Not Afraid was awesome!!
I had a blast, i was not worried about what i was wearing, or saying. Several folks that I knew stopped by, and my man was again by my side!!
I loved the exhibit as a whole, quite a few pieces found me taken with them.
I saw a lot of folks snapping images of all the creations.
It makes me wonder what the rules are about that.
I took images of my work in context to the show.
simply to remind me that I was there.
a bit more like pinch me - i was there!
giggle.
"She" seemed to prompt a lot of conversation. (top and middle photo)
"happy accident" had many ask what was that? like, which body part? (bottom piece - last photo)
AND the owner of the gallery Chris said that he was quite fond of "off the shoulder!!" (top piece - last photo)
How cool is that?
Painter Laura, co-owner and in house artist is sorting through an issue of chronic pain through two pieces she is painting live. VERY interesting to see her process. I got to meet her this time.
It was super cold out that night.
Otherwise I would have spent more time photographing the grit of Chicago that I love so much.
If I took that on - one street at a time. it would seriously take me a lifetime.
( a graffiti filled entry way, and sidewalk art )
Photography = a never ending opportunity to capture visual celebrations.
